threesixtyfive : sixtytwo : break the cycle, break the chain
Saul Williams : Break : The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust (2007)
What can I say? I only heard of Saul Williams for the first time about 3 or 4 months ago, Coded Language was my first taste, List of Demands was next. I must say, from that moment on I was hooked… the guy is an amazing lyricist/poet for the modern age… he doesn’t just spew shit, he actually has something worth saying and listening to… and nothing I could do can do him or his words justice.
Break the cycle, break the chain
break the hurt and break the pain
All my doubts and all my fears
break the spell that keeps me here
Break the cycle, break the chain
break the whip and break the pain
Listen to Break.
Listen to Coded Language read by Saul Williams on Def Poetry Jam.
Download The Inevitible Rise and Fall of NiggyTardust here. It’s only $5… and was produced by Trent Reznor. Support the artist, f*** the labels and f*** the RIAA!
Also for FGR My Love Affair With Music. What can I say, I can’t make it through the week without it, hopefully you can see the music in this one.
Putting myself in a spot here perhaps… Coded Language tomorrow. Maybe. Depends on my mood, as always and how creative I’m (not) feeling… Look forward to it, hopefully I don’t disappoint!
